Kang Jie High School was founded in April 1945, originally named “The Fifth Branch of Taiyue Administrative Cadre School in Shanxi-Hebei-Shandong-Henan Border Region”. The school was renamed “Kang Jie High School” by Shanxi provincial people’s government on May 1, 1952 in memory of Jia Kangjie, the earliest Communist, outstanding revolutionist and educator in southern Shanxi. 　

The school is located in Yuncheng Konggang development area. It covers an area of 500 mu, with a construction area of 180 thousand square meters and total assets of 0.68 billion yuan. Currently, there are 90 classes, with more than 5400 students enrolled. The school has a faculty of more than 500 people, including 6 senior teachers, 6 special-level teachers, and 110 head teachers.

During the development of 73 years, the school has been teaching-centered, sending more than 60,000 outstanding students to colleges and universities. Among them, more than 500 students were admitted to famous foreign universities and Tsinghua University and Beijing University. A total of 8 students have achieved the highest academic scores in Shanxi province.

Kang Jie High School has been recognized and highly praised by the society after more than 70 years of teaching practice.
