The early winter witnessed the grand opening of the International Fruit Trade Fair, organized by the Urban and Rural Collective Industrial Association and co-organized by counterparts of city, district and county level on November 9, 2018. 

The municipal association system fully implements the deployment of the municipal party committee and the municipal government, and it takes this event as a great opportunity for further series of major annual activities of traditional crafts. It aims to improve the level of industrial development and expand the social influence of the industry. In accordance with the requirements of the "Implementation Plan for the 3rd Shanxi (Yuncheng) International Fruit Trade Fair", the Urban and Rural Collective Industrial Association has formulated and issued the "Notice on preparations for the 3rd Shanxi (Yuncheng) International Fruit Trade Fair" Documents, the county (city, district) associations and industrial and American enterprises actively responded and fully cooperated. Mayor ZHU Peng, Deputy Mayor CUI Yuanbin and other city leaders visited the exhibition in person, they fully affirmed the work of the special craft exhibition area, and placed high hopes on the inheritance and development of the arts and crafts industry in Yuncheng.

The exhibition scene is magnificent and exhibits are abundant. With the theme of “supporting knowledge, supporting technology, serving agriculture, rural areas and farmers with heart”, this special craft exhibition activity has a total exhibition area of 720 square meters and a total of 36 booths. The products cover sculpture crafts, forging crafts, firing crafts, wood works, weaving and dyeing, weaving and binding, painting and drawing, cutting and engraving and so on. Many artistic works are displayed, for instance, Luodian lacquerware, cloud carving and Tixi, bronze sculptures, the four treasures of the study, and Jiangzhou Chengni Inkstone, colored glaze products, gold and silver embroidery, cloth art, bamboo weaving, straw weaving, willow weaving, paper-cutting, dough sculpture, flower buns, wood carving, root carving, stone carving, strange stones, woodblock pictures, gold lacquer painting, gourd art, and so on. There are not only masterpieces with unique styles, but also local feature products that are both artistic and practical.

This event has distinctively impressed visitors in many ways. It is the largest and the most comprehensive exhibition with the most exhibits in the industry in Yuncheng so far. Craft masters produced their works, closely following the theme of the exhibition. You can see the exquisite, simple and elegant Jishan Luodian lacquerware; the exquisitely designed and beautifully shaped cloud carvings of Tixi; and the exquisite charm of colored glaze products; and the world-renowned Yuda high-end bronze art gifts; and one of the four Chinese inkstones Jiangzhou Chengni Inkstone; the  Jiangzhou woodblock pictures with traditional Chinese cultural themes; Shanxi Benmingnian cultural and creative products; and the traditional paper-cut cultural works.

This exhibition exerts far-reaching impact on Yuncheng development. It fully demonstrated the rich achievements of the inheritance and development of local traditional handicrafts and arts and crafts industries. It advocated famous brand products and series of boutiques in this industry. Moreover, it promoted the profound historical heritage of Yuncheng, and the advantages of Hedong humanistic resources. In the future, the traditional crafts will further enhance exchanges and collaborations for the arts and crafts industry and the cultural tourism industry with the brand influence of "Ancient China and Grand City".
